The NDSM Container Arch has become one of the most recognisable symbols of NDSM and connects art, industry and community. In recent years, the arch has transformed several times, reflecting the creative nature of the area and the changing identity of NDSM and DGTL. Before 2026, we are again looking for creative talent who, together with DGTL, will provide this iconic landmark with a powerful new design.

In de tentoonstelling Nederland, word beter! blikken stichting Nederland Wordt Beter en het Amsterdam Museum terug op 15 jaar Zwart activisme in Nederland (2010-2025); de strijd voor gelijkheid en tegen racisme en andere vormen van uitsluiting. Een tijdlijn gecombineerd met verhalen van betrokkenen toont de geschiedenis en het heden van verschillende antiracisme-initiatieven. Te zien van donderdag tot en met zondag, toegang is gratis.

Between the Sheets presents a focused exhibition by FAILE, the Brooklyn-based duo of Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller, whose work has long challenged the boundaries between the street and the studio, the iconic and the ephemeral. With a practice rooted in printmaking, collage, and visual sampling, FAILE has spent the past 25 years constructing a vocabulary that draws from mass media, sacred imagery, pulp fiction, and the language of the city.

All the Tyres from Iceland is a sculptural artwork rooted in a compelling narrative of global trade, waste, and circular economies. This project reimagines used tyres—typically seen as waste—into striking installations that challenge perceptions of value and sustainability.  

Schattige babyvoetjes (Cute baby feet) will be on display at the NDSM shipyard from September 26, 2025 and will remain visible at the head of the industrial Y slope for two years. The new text work by artist Lily van der Stokker was developed especially for NDSM.

For the annual DGTL festival at NDSM (April 18-20), this year, the NDSM-werf Foundation and DGTL jointly commissioned the iconic container arch to give the iconic container arch a new look. In 2025, the Groningen VAAF artist duo Lotte Masker and Jonna Bo Lammers were commissioned.

ART PROGRAMMING BY STICHTING NDSM-WERF AND STICHTIGN KINETISCH NOORD

IN TUNE is an art installation by first-hour NDSM artist Henk Schut. Located in the dock water of the Y-slope, this artwork invites visitors to tune in with their surroundings. This work can be visited continuously and produces sound during the day.
