At the bakery BROOD, you can see, smell and taste that they make traditional sourdough bread. Bread made with love and attention to detail — every loaf is given the time to develop its natural taste and aroma to the full. In 2021, they opened a new, circular store and bakery at NDSM. The aim of this bakery is to be zero-waste and making use solely of biodynamic principles.

This bakery is located in the NDSM Loods next to Grafische Werkplaats Amsterdam. Come here for organic products made from sourdough, made with the utmost care and love by baker Ingeborg van Houwelingen and her team.

With art, the Beautiful Distress Foundation makes mental vulnerabilities visible, tangible and thus negotiable. After all, art appeals to our senses and mind; it enables us to look differently and makes us aware of our own preconceptions about mental health. Through exhibitions, artist-in-residence programs and side programming, Beautiful Distress challenges you to talk about this.

If you take the ferry to the NDSM shipyard from Amsterdam Central Station, you will see the big red letters of the Botel looming from afar. Located on the water, this hotel offers several rooms and you can even sleep in the letters on the roof.

Door Open Space is a 3000m2 urban warehouse that houses exhibitions, theater performances, nightlife and other cultural programming.

Café Noorderlicht is one of the oldest restaurants active at NDSM. Since it's founding in 2004, it has been a perfect place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and also for the occasional party or cultural event. Noorderlicht supports many creative and cultural initiatives, as well as ecological, circular projects, and socio-community programs. Their goal is to operate 100% circular, a vision that is implemented in their kitchen but also in the construction of the building itself. In addition, they provide training for professionals in the hospitality and events industry.

Cannibale Royale describe themselves as a combination between a chic French brasserie with a macabre man cave. It is a restaurant where everybody is welcome for lunch, dinner or a late-night drink.

The old Veronica ship docked at the NDSM pier houses Club Cabana: think tropical atmospheres, exotic snacks, tasty Sangrias and a refreshing cocktail menu. In addition, Club Cabana hosts the famous 80's Countdown cafe disco nights, hip jam sessions and concerts, comedy afternoons, and much more.

Contrast is a restaurant built on top of an old Dortmunder Ship. Situated on the water, you can enjoy a gourmet dining experience. In the lower level of the ship, Contrast also boasts an event/exhibition space with a diverse artistic program.

The NDSM Loods is home to one of the largest, oldest and best-known artistic breeding grounds. Approximately 250 people work in approximately 85 studios; a mix of artists, designers, creatives and craftsmen. This makes the Art City in the NDSM Loods the largest breeding ground in Amsterdam.

A hotel located next to NDSM's monumental “Smederij” building. The roof of the tower was designed after the original Forge roofs that were present at the NDSM shipyard during the shipbuilding era.
